Mirage Las Vegas closing

22 May 2024

When is the Mirage Las Vegas closing date? When will the Hard Rock open? And what will happen to the Mirage Volcano? We have that information and more. Plus, many states are pushing back against Dave & Busters plans to allow gambling in their restaurants.

Hard Rock International has announced the Mirage Las Vegas closure is set for July 17th. Renovation work will begin, which includes the development a new, integrated resort featuring a nearly 700 foot version of iconic guitar-shaped hotel tower.

The final day to book a room at Mirage Las Vegas will be 14 July. The Mirage’s well-known volcano is set for destruction, although no date has been announced. While HRI is shutting down The Mirage during the rebranding, the hotel tower will remain open, according to 2News Nevada. Hotel and show reservations beyond 14 July will automatically be cancelled and refunded.

Mirage opened in November 1989 as Steve Wynn’s first project on The Strip, but he had not been involved with the property since 2000, when he sold Mirage Resorts to MGM Grand before going on to form Wynn Resorts in 2002. Hard Rock, owned by Florida’s Seminole tribe, took over the property in 2022 as the first property operated by a tribe on the Strip.

Hard Rock has previously pointed to the renovation beginning in 2024, and their new hotel tower and other buildings will cover nearly 1.44 million sq ft. The new tower will have 600 guest rooms on 37 floors. The existing Mirage hotel tower has 31 floors.
