Hard Rock, baseball, and F1 updates

16 October 2025

We visit the Hard Rock and baseball stadium sites to check the progress and get updates. Plus, the Las Vegas F1 race is closing in, and that means road work and closures.

Las Vegas Update on Formula 1:
The Las Vegas F1 returns this November, transforming the Strip into a high-speed racing circuit beneath the city’s dazzling lights. From 20-22 November, drivers will battle through 17 turns on a 6.2-kilometer track that showcases the heart of Las Vegas. The Las Vegas F1 combines world-class motorsport with the city’s unmatched energy, delivering a weekend of speed, spectacle, and entertainment unlike any other event on the Formula 1 calendar.

Las Vegas Update on Baseball Stadium:
The new Las Vegas baseball stadium under construction is set to become a landmark on the Strip, rising from the site of the former Tropicana. It will seat about 30,000 people in fixed seats, with capacity for another 3,000 standing-room spectators. The structure features a domed, fixed roof designed with overlapping “pennants” to evoke classic baseball iconography and to mitigate the desert heat. A massive glass wall will give fans views of the Las Vegas skyline, while an 18,000-square-foot video board will rank among the largest in Major League Baseball. The facility will also include suites, club levels, concession and retail spaces, and will be paired with a surrounding entertainment district. Expected to open in 2028, the new Las Vegas baseball stadium will reshape how sports, hospitality, and nightlife coalesce in the city.

Las Vegas Update on Hard Rock:
The new Hard Rock Las Vegas is rising from the site of The Mirage, with a grand opening planned for late 2027. Its centerpiece will be a 660-foot-tall guitar-shaped hotel tower featuring about 675 suites. Hard Rock Las Vegas will include a 174,000-square-foot casino, expanded pools and spas, upgraded dining and entertainment, and redesigned public areas. The project aims to blend rock-and-roll energy with luxury resort style, creating a new icon on the Las Vegas Strip.
