In this week's video, there’s a rumor going around about a Las Vegas resort mainstay, while another Sin City rumor is coming true involving Mother Monster.
Word on the street is that the Casino Royale and Hotel is being torn down, but that’s not the shocking part. Its owners have received permission from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to transform the small, 150-room hotel in the middle of the Strip into a 700-foot-tall tower. To put the tower’s height into perspective, its neighbors Harrah’s Las Vegas Casino & Hotel and The Venetian Las Vegas stand only 350 and 475 feet tall, respectively. According to the paperwork, the approval has an expiration date of 21 January 2025, which sounds like a long time away, but not when it comes to building anything in Las Vegas. Adding to the rumor is that another neighbor, Outback Steakhouse, has been told it will be closing to make way for construction.
What’s not a rumor, anymore at least, is that the one-and-only Lady Gaga will be returning to Sin City for a series of 12 shows. After an immensely successful Las Vegas residency from 2018 to 2022, the Lady Gaga Jazz & Piano tour will be held at the Park MGM.
