This week we discuss a major expansion at the Bellagio that will stretch all the way to the Strip. Plus, there's an addition planned for the Venetian and renovation work at Caesars Palace effecting slots and poker.
There are major plans for an extensive Bellagio expansion project involving new restaurants and retail shops! It seems the powers that run the resort have realized that they are not taking full advantage of their location in the center of The Strip, and the prime viewing opportunities presented by their water feature. Well, that’s about to change. The Bellagio expansion will introduce a three-story plaza that extends from the hotel’s main entrance to Las Vegas Boulevard. The existing elevated bridge connecting the Strip to the Bellagio appears slated for removal.
Perhaps you’ve already heard the rumblings that Tao Las Vegas will take over the abandoned hotel tower at the Venetian. Sin City insiders have noticed strange happenings around the property lately, and their thought is that a new “boutique” style hotel will soon join the Strip. The exact location we’re discussing is on the Venetian property. The Venetian changed ownership and is now managed by Apollo. That company has been working with Tao Group to build a smaller hotel on the property, akin to the Nobu down at Caesars Palace.
